Pixlr Photo Editors

pixlr

Pixlr.com – Great Free Browser based photo editors.

Pixlr has 3 photo editing services that I enjoy using and they have come in very handy so I thought I would share them with you.

Pixlr editor       (Advanced)

“Editor” is much like a basic graphics program, but this one runs from your browser. You can import one of you own photos or open a new file. I like how you options on what file extensions you would like to save as.

Pixlr Express     (Efficient)

With “Express” you have a lot of options for simple photos editing, cropping, change saturation, color editing, borders,  filters, overlays, text (with cool font options), stamps, and you can also create collages.  (“Express” is my personal favorite.)

Pixlr Express is also a FREE mobile app and is on both Google Play and the App Store.

Pixlr-o-matic    (Playful)

The “O-Matic” is the most basic service that pixlr provides.  You are able to add filters and overlays to your photos. The “O-matic” also has ads on the sides that can get frustrating but other than that it works great.

Create a QR code using bit.ly

In this post I use bit.ly to generate the QR codes for your URLs.

Step 1.

Go to bit.ly and enter your desired URL into the Shorten bar then click Shorten.

In this example I am using the URL to my website juleahkaliski.com

Step 2.

After you have clicked “Shorten” the shortened link will appear.

Click the text “info page+”.

Step 3.

A new tab in your web browser will open with info and stats about the link you have just shortened.

You will want to Right Mouse click the QR code on this page and save it to your computer some ware. The file you are saving will be a .png

NOTE: You can save to versions of the same QR code one as the file format .png and the other .qrcode

Step 4.

Now that you have saved the .png file format of your QR code, Right Mouse click the QR code image and select “Open in new tab“.

Step 5.

In the new tab again, Right Mouse click the QR code and select “Save image as…”.

This image that you gets saved is in the file format .qrcode

So there it is the easy way to create a QR code using bit.ly
